Project Showcase: Core Extractions CBD Ecommerce Site

One of our more recent projects we’ve completed is the design and build of Core Extractions CBD website.  In partnership with Web Development LLC, Core Extractions provides a full spectrum of CBD products for sale shipping to the entire United States.  In addition to the eCommerce portion of the site, the website also offers affiliate opportunities, wholesale pricing, and a Cannabis blog.

The site accepts payments from all major credit cards and also provides an eCheck solution for wholesale customers.  The site is a clean minimalist design with a white background and a green theme, incorporating the yellow/orange gradient that appears in the logo.  Overall it is a beautifully responsive design, that looks just as good on mobile as it does desktop.

The affiliate part of the site allows each user to generate referral urls to earn commission off of referred sales.  When the user registers on the site, they can click on the ‘Affiliates’ tab to grab their referral url and even track total traffic, conversion %, referrals, and commissions.

There are also two popup features to the site:  one to confirm the user is 18 upon entering and another to advertise a promotional offer for 20% off the user’s first order for subscribing to the newsletter.

The CBD store offers a wide range of all organic and Non-GMO products, that were produced using no harsh chemicals and minimally processed.

In terms of the site build, the products vary from both variable and simple in pricing.  The CBD capsules come in 10mg up to 100mg each, providing users different doses depending on their size and desired effect.  They also sell CBD oil syringes and CBD tincture, in both full spectrum and zero THC.  They also carry CBD teas, CBD tincture for pets, and CBD balm.

ProSource Media is also handling the search engine marketing for this website.

Keyword research was difficult because of the Google’s lack of keyword data in the CBD category at the moment.  It’s still not allowed to run ads in Google for CBD related keywords at the moment, despite the political climate improving recently.  Given the inability to run ads, Google does not provide any keyword volume statistics in the CBD category at the time of writing.

We had to really base our keyword strategy off of the search suggestion box, related searches tool, and amazon search suggestions in order to get an idea of which keywords would be our primary and secondary keywords for each product page.

In the end, we were able to get a great idea of search trends using these tools and built a very strong keyword strategy and product strategy on top of our research.  The lack of competition in Organic Search results have proven to be an opportunity for Core, as they are already seeing organic traffic and conversions only a month into the SEO campaign.  This is coming from a brand new website with no domain age or history.  Once the SEO starts to take hold and domain authority is established, this has huge upside in revenue/sales potential from only organic sources.
